My Approach
I work with children, teens, young adults, and families, using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach. I prioritize trust, safety, and communication to foster an environment where clients feel comfortable being open and authentic.
I value family involvement and recognize caregivers as key to the healing process. When appropriate, parents are included in therapy to help families strengthen connections, improve communication, and navigate challenges with greater confidence.
I tailor therapy to each individual or family’s unique needs, personality, and goals. As a neurodivergent and queer-identifying provider, I recognize the importance of spaces where clients do not need to mask or shrink. My goal is to help clients and families feel understood, empowered, and supported. I am committed to using affirming-care (including but not limited to, gender-affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, culturally-affirming, HAES framework) that honors and celebrates the diversity of the whole person.
Guided by curiosity and rooted in connection, I honor healing as relational, nonconforming, and liberatory.
How it is like working with me
I am an engaged therapist who balances curiosity, structure, and flexibility. I ask questions, highlight patterns, and help clients understand factors contributing to their challenges. I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical, combining emotional processing with actionable tools and strategies.
With children and teens, I incorporate creativity, humor, and play, remaining direct and solution-focused as needed. I adapt my approach to each client’s pace and needs, creating a space to explore challenges, build confidence, and deepen self-understanding.
I draw from a range of evidence-based and relational approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, somatic techniques, Gestalt therapy, and psychodynamic approaches.
